FMQ Friday 21st May...I must be nearly at my 2 weeks - today? tomorrow??
The blue plastic is a freehand drawing I have done for a template - but I cant work out how to use it other than using the light box.
Ladybug is there too, nestled in the feathers.
The orange Batik I have drawn freehand and more or less followed it as I went..
I washed out the pen - and the back is now a bit blue since I took this photo :(
This shows the back - I have now actually done all the circles in the stems...but having trouble with the tension, so I am off to watch some TV.
I have yet to plan the border...but have some ideas at least now.

I was searching and searching for the lady bug in the drawing...finally found her in the actual piece...guess I should scroll down LOL.
Crispy
love the lady bug!! you can burn out a channel in the plastic template with a stencil burning tool- i hate those tension issues with mq. can you loosen the top tension to almost nothing> that has helped me in the past but all machines are different.
nice work!
Wonderful again. You are such a wonderful quilter. I think I'm going to have to give it a try. Thanks also for the wonderful quilts in your last post. So much inspiration!
How thick is that plastic? If you sew on the line with a large needle, you can pounce the pattern onto your fabric. As for the blue - wash again before you heat set at all. It should come out. I think it gets caught in the batting. Perhaps even try a gentle swish in your machine with a color catcher.
Great work! I'm in awe of the quilts below that you are showing us. It will take me a few times back to your blog to view them all... I can't even imagine seeing these in person. How on earth ?!?! amazing! And the watercolor hexies one...!?!?? SUPER!
Awww, look at that. Look at the effect and the lady bug as well. Golly Joan. How very sweet. I love this one, too.
That is a beautiful feather design. And it translates well to the quilt.
Dear, Dear Joan! Can you contact me again re. your spinning wheel!?!? I can't seem to email you directly, problem on MY end. thanks!
Soon we'll see one of YOUR quilts in a show, eh? I love the ladybug, Sandy
