Designs

Its early in the evening for me to be posting...but I would love to show you what I have been doing today .....ALL day

As you can quess - I am very taken with the freezer Paper way of applique!
I drew this up earlier today - this was the second design - the first had a few too many small feather pieces.
I didnt really take long to draw... was more torouble cutting it out and choosing the colours.
I was intending to put this on a black background...but may just do it on the white...
Here it is on the black
The colours in the white one are more correct.

Let me know what you think?

I think I really like the white.  Maybe make a feature of it on a larger piece of white and go mad with the quilting :)
There I was really getting ready for the FMQ challenge...and this is the path I have taken
I hope to do a bit of quilting on this too - soon  HA!

Just for fun - I took a photo of my sutdio...

from this mess!!!!  not to mention utter chaos!!!  I played - all day.
I had great trouble finding things (wonder why)
Now I really need to straighten things out and put fabric away...

And tonight - there was this beautiful sunset!

So you see - I did have time to notice a little around our house today.
It actually tried to rain today ..amazing, but not enough to even wet the ground.

I am going to try to sew the Granny's Hankies together tomorrow if I can.
School holidays have taken over
Now - just for a change - I am off to watch some TV - and just hope I don't get side-tracked- again!

Gorgeous feather! It makes regular quilted feathers pale in comparison! I love seeing what you're doing these days.

Stunning! I like them both!

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a messy sewing room most of the time.

Now that's what I call nice feathers! Love your room too. Sometimes I think I need the chaos to create. When my room is neat I try to be careful not to mess it up and end up doing nothing. Can't wait to see how you will use the feathers.

Normally I love those fabrics on black, but I think the white is my favorite! It makes it look light and airy! Really beautiful design and fabrics. Nice sunset you got there!

Oh Joan, they are breathtaking! I love the colours you have chosen and can see that a happy quilter plays in your studio! I am surprised how lovely the marbles soften on the white background. Looking forward to see where your inspiration takes you! :)

I really love this Joan. The white looks great, but I like it whatever you use.

You have been busy. I love the applique on white, lots of room for your lovely quilting. I can relate to the sewing room!

your applique is beautiful. Wow! I like them both too but if I had to pick I think it would be the white background.

The feather is gorgeous, I love the colours you've used, what fun. My sewing room looks like yours, I can't create and be tidy.

Applique feathers - lovely. I like how you have graduated the colours.

I think I like it on the white, too. But then, I just like it! I'd love to be able to make something like that and applique it to the back of a denim jacket! Your work and color choices are gorgeous!

I thought the applique feathers were two different pieces until you said only the backgrounds were different. Amazing work.

Beautifeal feather design!! That is gorgeous! I love them both.

Nice sewing room! Looks like mine! :-)

I love both the appliques. Not much help I know. Sewing room scene is familiar. It only becomes a problem when you waste too much time looking for things.

Oh! I am sooo thankful to see that mine is not the only studio area that explodes. :D

I just *love* your feathers. You're so talented! (And I do like them better on the white, as well.)
