Designs, FMQ

FMQ and Designs

Its been some time since I posted.

Difficult times at home...however I have managed to get some practice in for a quilt I am making as a gift.
Not a feather in sight... unusual for me!
Its a big learning curve.

There are Boab trees and Black boys ...sorry native grass they are called now.
The lower one was brown silk with Invisafil in the bobbin.. The top one was Guttamans in the top
but it left such a lot of fluff in the machine, I don't want to use it again.

There is also a lizard in there too.

Not sure what this one is, but it is pretty small
Actual quilt.

This was a practice piece

Lizard one.. actual quilt

Lizard 2 ... actual quilt.

Kangaroo of course.. actual quilt.

Turtle/tortoise.. and you can see some of the things I was trying to work out.

Platypus.

and this is today's effort..All in Invisafil in the bobbin
with a grayish silk thread in the left hand corner.
I am waiting for some black silk to arrive, and I think this will be the one...not sure yet.

I have had a huge problem with my Invisafil thread, its been shredding after sewing for a while.
Still, I am persevering.

I had some very helpful advice a little earlier, and I am hoping this will correct my failings.

I am hoping to get a bit further on this very soon... unfortunately I can't show more than this.

Till later

Joan, sending warm thoughts to you that things get better. Your FMQ is looking great. I have four or five spools of invisifil and deco bob and can't get it right in my longarm. Hopefully I will have time to figure it out, I do like the way it sinks into the fabric.

such wonderful quilting, Joan. I have problems with the Wonderfil metallic, but the Invisifil runs smoothly. Do hope things get better for you at home - hugs!
