FMQ Challenge 2013

SewCalGals FMQ Challenge 2013

Well - I have actually finished this challenge for January!
I did have difficulty with the thread and tension...but I persevered!
I am running my computer in Safe Mode, as I have some problems, which will hopefully be fixed soon...so please forgive the order these photos are in. The screen is so large - I am finding it difficult.
And its HOT!

Very bad tension in a lot of places...but hey - I will work on that.

YLI 100 silk thread in the centre and Sulky thread - dark greyish in the feathers...different threads tried around the feathers...
afraid I didn't keep track of them.

I have a completion  WhoooHooo

  2. I like the effect of the blue 'ribbon'. Thread tension can't be a head ache at times!

  4. Love your finish! I hate it when the top is working and looking good only to find that the tension in the back slipped here a there, oh well with time everything gets better.

As for your screen being huge, try to diminish it's size by holding down your control key and at the same time roll the wheel on the mouse to get a better screen display. If you roll it one way the type increases and obviouosly the other way to decreases. If you don't have a wheel then maybe the arrow down key might work....hope it helps. Jane

  6. Beautiful, just beautiful! I have just recently used 100 wt thread and it was so nice for the tiny fills. I too had some tension issues.

  9. You did really well. I did a class with Libby Lehman years ago on that same ribbon technique and I remember how bad I was at it, lol.
