On my design board

I am not really getting much done, but thought I show you my Design board at present. I have my blocks from Joannes Quilt Along up and all the blank spots are waiting for blocks still to be made.

Cyclone Yasi has us all watching the news and waiting for the terrible force that is to hit Queensland tonight. They are saying it is the worst to hit Australia - ever! Catstrophic!

We feel so for the people in the vicinityy of the force that it will bring along the coast and inland for 400kms too.
There are 10,000 people in various evacuation areas in large shopping centers and other large sporting areas, and now they not to move from their homes if they have left it too late to evacualte, and must stay in one room only.
We are glued to our TV and feeling very helpless.

  2. Here watching the inevitable and praying. Really hope the announced calamity never happens.

I trust Australian authorities are taking good care of the people and lives aren´t lost and fear for animal life which can do nothing to protect themselves.

Our hearts are with the Australian people and all living being.

  7. Joan,

After two weeks of absence from blogland, I am finally back in business.

I love your quilt so far -- the colors especially.

Please keep us updated on the Queensland situation.

    HUGS!

  8. I really need to get a design wall. How fun it must be to watch the squares get added one by one!

I just heard from some of my Aussie friends that so far they haven't heard of injuries or worse to anyone. Though property damage can be devastating too, I do hope the reports on injuries are correct!
