First half of design sewn.
I did test it out first - the blue marking pen did wash out after I ironed the fabric...so I went ahead and sewed one half. I have actually painted water on the blue to see what it looks like - so I shall wash it all when I have completed it tomorrow...maybe.
I am off now to hand sew for a change.
Glad to hear the blue marker came out after ironing....a scary test LOL. I should have read "both" blog posts before I responded to the first one :0)

Very inspirational!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks just like the delicate Swiss embroidery! Years ago I visited a shop/factory and viewed huge machines making Swiss embroidered fabrics. The yard goods were later sold in their shop...and many, many pieces came home with me! This looks just like it! Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteVERY Lovely Joan! Your design is so intricate- sheesh. I like the way you painted, and am anxious to see the results after washing- this looks so delicate, are you using the silk thread for quilting? My first FMQ was a disaster, well really bad. LOL Sandy
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful! You are truely a very talented lady.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from the other side of the world :-)
It looks fantastic Sue! I am surprised the marker came out after ironing, I always thought the heat sets the colour.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Joan ! I look forward to seeing more of your adventures :)
